Has It Worked?
Manifesting is a process; a journey of self-persuasion. This is not simply a process of closing one’s eyes, saying an affirmation and waiting for the magic to happen. We are required to do something; to actively partake in this process. Indeed, that ‘something’ rests entirely in the realm of the imagination. When all is said and done manifestation is a journey of self-persuasion. As Neville Goddard ones said, seeing is believing. We will only see our manifestation once we are absolutely convinced of its reality.
While some manifestations appear almost instantaneously, a slight time delay is to be expected. Time may pass before you receive physical evidence that things are even shifting to reflect your desired outcome.
Whatever the desire, a period of psychological adjustment is often required. During this stage, we learn to disengage from the evidence of the senses, instead familiarizing ourselves with the feeling of fulfillment. We do this through conscious and deliberate control of our focus and attention.
It is crucial we navigate this transition with poise and determination as we journey through these uncertain psychological waters. It can certainly be a destabilizing experience. One may be left wondering: does any of this even work?
As pressure mounts, logic and anxiety fuse, propelling the mind toward doubt and frustration. Motivation may give way to panic and ultimately despondency. We may devote more time to techniques, consume more content or purchase another manifestation course, all in a desperate effort to clutch at the straws of reassurance. To be honest, for the novice, this experience is pretty common. I should know; this was once my experience.
There is, of course, the possibility that you have not quite succeeded in the task of self-persuasion; your manifestation has yet to hatch. Chances are, if you find yourself stressed out and doubting, this is the situation. If you have yet to be self-persuaded, simply continue the work of ‘manifesting’ (the tools, techniques, the releasing of resistance.) However, if we do more techniques following a successful period of psychological adjustment, we may delay our manifestation.
So generally speaking, a lack of evidence can mean one of two things:
1) all is well; your desire is on the way
2) You have not yet persuaded yourself of the reality of your desire.
So we come to a tricky impasse. How do you know what your current lack of evidence points to? Do you need to do more psychological adjustment or can you rest easy?
The answer is simple: Monitor your reactions. Notice how regard yourself in relation to others and your end goal. Does it feel attainable, or something beyond your reach? Introspection will reveal your psychological dwelling place.
Lets make this practical.
Suppose you want to manifest fame as an author. Do you find yourself cursing letters of rejection, or do you brush over them with gentle indifference? When your mind wonders in revery, do you see yourself at the hight of literary fame, or a victim of defeat. This is the evidence we need when determining if we have ‘manifested successfully.’
Should you fall and return to a state of lack, fret not for nothing is ever lost in the Divine economy. Simply return to the state of the wish fulfilled and you will once again rise up in consciousness to the space where your desire has its natural life. You will appropriate it once more and dwell therein. Wherever we find ourselves dwelling psychologically, we will soon find ourselves experiencing in the flesh.
